Roundup is "plenty safe"? Where have you been? Read up on how deadly it is before you state this.

Had a leaky box as I walked across my front yard. Left a trail of dead plants, grass and weeds. So, make sure you only get it on the plant you want to kill. Just a sprinkle will do it!

March 20 2013 at 1:45 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyStick with weed killer and follow the directions...a small spray bottle will do and save making excess... Actually the most certain way is to take a small spade or trowel and loosen the soil and the pull the weed by hand... If there are no roots left it will not grow back.

March 19 2013 at 6:12 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyi've tried vinegar and i've tried lemon juice. they'll weeds above ground good but i'm not at all impressed with either killing root systems. in my raised beds i went back to round up and seldom need more than one yearly application. that's plenty safe as well as cost effective.

It takes them about 3 days to die and must be reapplied if washed off by rain or irrigation before descication begins. Vinegar disolves the wax on the leaves and the plants lose all their water.
