Project Table for Kids

Featured pro:
Category: Home Improvement

If you're looking for a great project table for your kids, why not try making it yourself? Eric Stromer shows you how to easily assemble a functional table that's great for arts and crafts. With some plywood, tin cups, siding, legs, wood glue and standard power tools, you can create a long-lasting piece of furniture for under $35.

Step 1: Create Cup Holders
Take a piece of plywood and trace three cup holes onto the side of the table top. Use a roll of tape as a guide. Drill a starter hole into the wood with a 3/4-inch bit. Cut hole out with a jigsaw.

Step 2: Add Trim
Use four pieces of 1x1 trim on each side of your table. Apply it leaving a 1/8-inch lip on top to create a small edge for your kids' table. Glue the trim on, then secure it with nails.

Step 3: Add Legs
Glue legs into the corners of the underside of the table. Secure with nails.

Step 4: Flip and Finish
Flip the table, add your tin cups and let your kids go to town!
