How to Mow the Lawn

Step 1: Morning Dew
Correctly mowing your lawn is the best way to ensure lush, weed-free growth all season long. First, cut your lawn right when the dew dries.

Step 2: Take a Walk
Walk the grounds before mowing and pick up any sticks, rocks or other debris—and make a note where the sprinklers are.

Step 3: Make a Pass
Mow your lawn in a horizontal or vertical pattern, and alternate every couple of mowings. With every pass, go back over half the row you just finished.

Step 4: Get Clipped
Cut around the edges of your yard with a weed whacker or manual clippers.

Step 5: Grass is Greener
Remove the bag on the mower, so the clippings will be left on the lawn, which is better for healthy grass growth.
