If you need additional desk space, create a magnetic chalkboard to place above your work space. It's great for posting bills, notes and much more. The best part? It's easy to make. Just make a wooden frame that’s divided into 2 sides—1 for a chalkboard and the other for a magnetic board.

Step 2: Get Framed
Paint one side with chalkboard paint and the other with magnetic paint—then hang up the frame and get organized.

I tried 2 different brands of magnetic paint. It was difficult to paint over, left the door a little rough and only worked with very strong magnets. I don't recommend this. The blackboard paint on the other hand is easy to use and effective. Just be sure to put something on the floor near it if it's in a child's room, because you will have chalk dust on the floor. Just my $.02 worth.

Ummmm, is it just me or does anyone else think that putting a magnetic surface that close to your laptop computer would be a BAAAADDD thing? I love the idea of magnetic paint, but I was always told to keep anything magnetic as far away from electronics (particularly computers) as possible.
