How to Remove Red Wine Stains

Featured pro:
Category: Home ImprovementStains Be Gone

Red wine stains can be tough to get out, but if you act quickly, they won't stand a chance. With a few common household products -- soap, hydrogen peroxide, club soda, salt and even white wine -- can help remove red wine from clothing or tablecloths with ease.

Step 1: Treat It Fast
Try to treat your red wine stain as soon as possible. Mix one teaspoon of dish soap with one cup of hydrogen peroxide. Use a sponge to drizzle it on the stain. Let it penetrate and rinse with cold water.

Step 2: Club Soda Method
Put club soda in a measuring cup and soak the piece of clothing in the solution. Remove and cover with salt. Leave it overnight, brush the salt off and your stain should be gone.

Step 3: Fight Wine With Wine
If you don't have anything else, try using white wine to fight the stain. Pour it over the effected area and let it soak for a few minutes. Rinse and you should be good to go.

I am a Diabetic and I just had a Pacemaker installed. Sometimes my wound leaks out a little blood on the bedsheets and pillow cases. What is the best way to get the Blood stains out? What do you suggest?
Thank you,

Someone, someday, wrote about how to get red wine stains out of clothes even if they've set and been in the clothes for a long time. I tried what she said once and it worked, but now I can't find the "recipre" anymore. It was Dawn dish washing soap and hydrogine peroxide, but I don't remember the mixture. But it really doesn't matter to me anymore, because I've learned how to drink red wime without spilling it. LOL
