Very interesting. But she needs a couple of seconds more to explain how she put the mirror in place.

Unfortunately not shown, I am assuming the bookcase is turned around with the books toward the wall and the mirror facing out into the room, as that was not explained when the mirror was being applied to the back side of the bookcase.

Uhh Diana, she put casters (rolling wheels) on the base of the bookcase so you can turn the whole thing. So turn when you want books and turn again when you want to look at yourself. Watch the video from the beginning.

And if she had glued wood strips the mirror she could have added hinges and made a full length Mirror and still had hidden storage space.

Many affordable mirrors are sort of flimsy and continually opening and closing the mirrored side, regardless of having wood strips framing the back of the mirror, would put too much stress on the glass and it would eventually shatter. Using a heavier mirror might solve the problem but, then, if it's too heavy it could topple the bookcase. Her idea is both easier to execute and inherently safer.

If she had placed the mirror on the back, she would have been able to use the storage space of the bookcase by turning the bookcase as needed to access the items in the bookcase and use the mirror other times.
