Category: Home Decor

Stencils are not only easy to make, but they're extremely versatile. In his latest video, Carter Oosterhouse shows you how to create a reusable stencil out of velum, and breathes life into a plain pillowcase and old platter. With a few tools, you can liven up furniture, walls and more in just a few easy steps.

Step 1: Image is Everything
Select an image that you want to stencil onto another surface.

Step 2: Trace Out
Tape, then trace, the image onto the stencil material using a pencil.

Step 3: Cut Out
Cut out the image with a utility knife.

Step 4: Punch Out
Punch out the void spaces in your design.

Step 5: Stick and Paint
Adhere the stencil to the object, then paint over the stencil.

Step 6:
Remove the stencil from your item, let the paint dry and enjoy!
