I did this last year on an outdoor fence, as the flowers or herbs grow they cover the shoe bag. I cut the shoe bag in half so I had two planters. The results were beautiful.

No drainage wholes and it would be impossible to have them or you'd contantly be having a huge mess to clean up all around it! (ALL flowering plants, herbs, etc. will need watering all the time! why not just use planters and do it the sensible way!
May 15 2013 at 6:42 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWouldn't it be just great if you used a paint ( all one color ) WATER RESISTANT, and then after all is done, insert all the beautiful greenery? This way no one will really know for sure that what is hanging is a shoe rack? I think it is a marvelous idea, by water resistant paint ( your choice of color) and poke very very tiny , tiny tiny, little holes at the very beneath bottom of each individual pocket will make for a much aerated and healthier environment without ruining the look after a short time? This i would love to see.... Keep going..... without creativity what do have? Thank you...
