There are many treasures to be found at garage sales and yard sales. You can breathe new life into old items by repurposing them for modern day uses. For instance, an old watering can may be used as a decorative item or large vase. Add hooks and a good coat of paint to an old window shutter, and you'll have a cool jewelry holder. The possibilities are endless when you look at things from a different perspective.

Step 1: Go With a Repurpose
When shopping at garage sales, think about how you can repuropse old items. A vintage soda case can be reused as a display case for keys or shot glasses. A large watering can be used as a vase, and a ladder can be used for towels and linens.

Step 2: Add Hardware
Adding hardware can turn any item into something functional. For instance, you can take an old shutter, paint it, and put S-hooks on it to hang jewelry. Put hooks on a washboard and it becomes a cool place for your keys.

Begin with something in mind and find ways to let your creativity shine.

I am looking for something to make a under sink stand or cabnet. Thinking in terms of a yard sale table, standing from floor to bottom outside rim of sink about 26 inches high. Bottom of bowl under sink is about 23 inches high.

Do you have any ideas? Please share.
