Furniture Scaling
Keep the rooms in your home uncluttered and looking great with these easy trade secrets from Kelly Edwards.
-
Step 1: Keep Your Balance
Regardless of size, keep any room looking uncluttered with the proper proportions. Create a balanced look with the right pieces, and make sure the styles go together.
-
Step 2: On The Scale
Measure your room, including your windows, your doors and your furniture, and go online and take advantage of some free programs to help you, or map out your room on a piece of graph paper. Make every foot equal to two squares.
-
Step 3: Art Project
Cut out shapes from construction paper to represent your furniture selections. Be sure they’re in scale, too, so you can move them around the paper to see what works best.
