put cork board and make it a message centre---NO DUST..........put a row of hooks for all to hang their keys as well...if you don't have small kids poking around use that drawer for your sewing supplies- scissors-needles,pins,and even what you're working on,pattern if you're using one etc if you have to stop work for a while---fold it all up and place it in there and get it out of the way--same for handwork needlepoint crochet hooks etc---you have that drawer and everything you need and can simply keep everything in 1 place patterns materials etc with that size drawer....and keep everything together and be able to put it all away together no problems---been doing that for a while as when people here remodel their kitchens, some drawers are literally clean and brand new looking.
December 04 2011 at 10:19 PM Permalink rate up rate downTry painting the bottom of the drawer white. Then add a pane of glass.
Use a 'whiteboard' marker for your notes. Screw hooks on the outside bottom for keys.
Attach "velcro" with the sticky back to the marker and alond the side of the drawer, so it's not lost.
Do the same to a small square box of tissues or put a bottenhole in the corner of a wash cloth to use to clean the glass.
No mess, no fuss.
For other drawers: remove the back (not bottom); place the glass on the top of the drawer; hang on wall with open end up. Use it to drop items in for organizing, ie screws, nails, in the garage; safety pins, needle packs, or threads for sewing rooms. Just use your imagination.

Why didn't he removed the handle?

December 05 2011 at 5:41 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyVery interesting, definitely a good idea using the old desk drawer. I wasn't able to see how the window pane was used for a chalk board. Do you paint the glass or do you remove the glass and replace with a piece of luan? Thank you for the tip though regarding the drawer.
