The Best Hot Chocolate

Featured pro:
Category: Cooking

Curtis Stone transforms standard hot chocolate into something incredible with his simple and delicious trade secret.

Step 1: 2 to 1
Gently heat milk and cream in a pot using twice the amount of milk as you do cream; be sure to keep your flame low or you'll separate the fat from the cream.

Step 2: Mint
Roughly chop some mint leaves and add them to the pot. Thoroughly froth (use an electric mixer) the mint leaves through the milk and cream and add a bit sugar.

Step 3: Chocolate
It's important to use quality chocolate, not cocoa powder to make good hot chocolate. Taste your cream; it should be minty and sweet but not overly sweet. Strain out the mint, turn your heat off and add the chocolate; stir the chocolate thoroughly(use the mixer) through the cream.

Step 4: Serve
Fill a nice big mug about 4/5 of the way with your hot chocolate, then float a scoop of premium ice cream, top it off with a dollop of real whipped cream and enjoy!
