Category: Cooking

Stuffing isn't just for the holidays! With Curtis Stone's trade secrets for making savory, delicious stuffing, you can make any day feel like a holiday with this comfort food classic side dish.

Step 1: Bread
Cube up some bread, let it sit--- we don't want stale and hard, just not super fresh, leave it out for a day.

Step 2: Flavors
Get three pans working on your stove stop. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3: Pan 1
In a sauté pan over medium heat add butter. Add onion, leek, celery and mushroom cook until soft about 12 minutes, add herbs.

Step 4: Pan 2
Saute chopped sausage.

Step 5: Pan 3
Heat up a quality chicken stock.

Step 6: Mix
Pick up your diced bread and drop it in a large bowl. Add your veggies from pan 1 to the bowl and mix thoroughly. Next add your sausage, again be sure to mix well. For more flavor add some cooked bacon bits as well.

Step 7: Stock
Now it's time for your stock but don't pour it all in at once, gradually add the stock while stirring until you reach desired consistency. Taste and check for flavor.

Step 8: Butter + Eggs
Coat a ceramic casserole dish with butter, then crack a couple of eggs, whisk thoroughly and mix with your stuffing---the eggs will help hold the stuffing together.

Step 9: 20 On 20 Off
Cover your dish with foil and pop in a 350° oven for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and let cook for another 20 minutes.
