How to Use Dried Spices

Step 1: Freshness Counts
Often the spices you have in your cabinet dried up and lacking flavor--- try and use fresher herbs, use seeds and roast and crush them yourself.

Step 2: Seeds
Roast coriander, fennel and cumin seeds in a pan for about a minute.

Step 3: Grind
Using either a mortar and pestle or an electric grinder and grind your seeds into powder.

Step 4: Uses
Make a dry rubs or store in sealable glass jars for future use. You'll find you get more flavor and save a bit of money as well.
