Sam Talbot's Edible Gifts
Step 1: Flavored Sprinkling Sugar
Find a glass jar or plastic container that you would deliver the gift in. Add sugar, vanilla bean and, star anise. Set aside mixture for about a week. Open lid, remove star anise and, vanilla bean. Add remaining ingredients. Close Lid and shake, until mixture is fully combined. Close up lid and place a tag on gift explaining what it is and how it can be used.
Step 2: Simple Syrups
The recipe for simple syrup is: 2 cups of sugar plus 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil and infuse any flavor you want.
Step 3: Ginger Syrup
Take 8-10 slices whole ginger and add them to your syrup base. Let sit for about 10 minutes. Let it cool, and then funnel into a jar and cork.
