Cooking One Item Three Different Ways

Most people steam or saute broccoli, which is fine, if done right, but there are other options, too.

Step 3: Broccoli Piccata
In medium sauté pan over medium high heat add butter and broccoli florets. Cook 2 minutes. Add capers and finish with white wine. Cook additional 2 minutes and serve warm.

Step 4: Broccoli Slaw
Another thing you can do is keep broccoli raw. Take an inch off the stem, take the rest of the stem and shave it on a cheese grater. Mix with carrots and cabbage. In a small bowl whisk together the mayonnaise and vinegar. Pour into your slaw mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Serve.
